Our Owners

Austin Rehl, DDS

About:

Dr. Rehl studied at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, in 2008, he founded Family Tree Dental. Dr. Rehl has experience in many aspects of general dentistry including restorative, oral surgery, sedation, endodontics, cosmetic procedures, orthodontics, and dental implant procedures.

He is an adjunct professor with The Ohio State College of Dentistry and serves as clinical faculty for NYU Langone – bringing the resources of a new generation of dentists to Marietta. Dr. Rehl supervises and mentors 4th-year dental students in his practice, giving them valuable hands-on experience as they prepare to take their Dental Board exams and enter the world of Private Practice Dentistry.

He brings his vast dental experience and love of teaching and developing new assistants to our Fundamentals of Dental Assisting program.

Jarek Atwood, DDS

About:

Dr. Jarek Atwood received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University where he also met his wife, Bethany. They moved to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University where he graduated summa cum laude with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. As the top graduate of his class, he brings passion for clinical excellence as well as the kind, friendly and gentle care that defines Family Tree Dental.

During his 4th year as a dental student, Dr. Atwood was assigned to Family Tree Marietta as a part of Ohio State University’s Ohio Project. There he fell in love with the hometown feel of Marietta and the Family Tree culture. After growing up in a military family and living in many different places–including Germany, England and New Mexico–Dr. Atwood felt it was time to put down roots and couldn’t think of a better place than Marietta, Ohio. He is now a proud part owner of the business and the area is stuck with him.

Tye Bauserman, DDS

About:

Dr. Tye Bauserman graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.

Dentistry has been a lifelong pursuit and passion for Dr. Bauserman. You are sure to see that reflected in his smile if you see him in the office.

He and his wife have four children. When he is not in the dental office, Dr. Bauserman loves to be outdoors enjoying hobbies such as fishing, hunting and camping. Don’t hesitate to say “hi” if you see him in the office or around town!

Jordan Allen, DDS

About:

The second of four children, Dr. Jordan Allen was raised in Idaho amongst the sagebrush and juniper trees. He attributes any success he’s had in life to a steady diet of potatoes in his youth. He received a bachelors degree in biology from Idaho State University, and earned his doctorate from the Ohio State University.

Dr. Allen married the love of his life, a woman of unmatched wit and surpassing beauty. They have a mischievous and playful young son and a giant fluffy golden doodle.

Dr. Allen enjoys road trips with his family, anything remotely competitive, and a nice, crisp morning on the golf course.

Peter Lovejoy, DDS

About:

Dr. Lovejoy graduated from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2008. After practicing in a General Dentistry office in Colorado for 6 years, he returned to Ohio to join his friend and colleague, Dr. Rehl as a partner in Family Tree Dental. Dr. Lovejoy has experience in all phases of comprehensive general dentistry including fillings, oral surgery, root canals, cosmetic procedures, implants, and prosthodontics. He is an adjunct professor with The Ohio State College of Dentistry. Dr. Lovejoy supervises and mentors 4th-year dental students in his practice, giving them valuable hands-on experience as they prepare to take their Dental Board exams and enter the world of Private Practice Dentistry. He contributes his deep pool of dental experience and knowledge and his fun and enthusiastic delivery to our program.

Luke Bauserman, DDS

About:

Dr. Luke Bauserman is a native of southeastern Ohio. He has a lovely wife, and three wonderful children.

Dr. Bauserman graduated from Ohio University with an undergraduate degree in history, then went to Ohio State University for dental school, graduating in same class as his brother, Dr. Tye Bauserman, and his good friend, Dr. Jordan Allen.

Upon graduation, Dr. Bauserman received the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award for outstanding achievement.

Moving to Washington County brought Dr. Bauserman back to his roots, his ancestors were among the original settlers of the area.

In addition to being a dentist, Dr. Bauserman enjoys producing documentary videos about history and folklore, which are available on his YouTube channel, American Mythology.

Brenda Morris, RDH

About:

Brenda graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 1988. She has worked as a Dental Hygienist for the past 26 years. As well as earning her degree as a dental hygienist, Brenda also earned her Expanded Function Dental Auxilliary (EFDA) certification while she was in college. Brenda is currently the Hygiene Department Director for Family Tree Dental, overseeing 6 Hygienists and coordinating continuing education and periodontal training for staff. Brenda brings her many years of experience to our program, sharing the insight and attention to detail that make a dental assistant a valuable team member.
